Staff
The commitment and untiring effort of a small paid staff
and legions of dedicated volunteers -- between 800 and
1000 annually -- enable the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen
to do the work it does.

TASK Volunteers
Individuals from all walks of life, locations,
and religious beliefs volunteer their time to TASK.
Our corps of volunteers includes the following:
- Individuals and people in groups:
faith-based groups, social groups, and corporations
- Students from local schools and colleges
- Workers from the Community Work Experience
Program. In order to receive a monthly public
assistance payment, each participant must complete
30 hours of work-related activity per week.
- Workers who are fulfilling their
community service obligations for the Mercer County
or Trenton court system.
- Patrons who work at TASK for the
satisfaction and sense of community the work provides,
and as a way of giving back
Bonner/AmeriCorps
Program
In addition to the paid staff, community service workers,
and dedicated volunteers, several members of the New
Jersey Bonner Leaders Program currently are serving at
TASK.
The Bonner Leaders Program is run by the Bonner Foundation
of Princeton, NJ, and is funded by the New
Jersey State Commission’s AmeriCorps Program.
It seeks a high degree of cooperation between area colleges
and community partners. Each campus has a core group
of part-time program members who commit to completing
the required hours of community service during their
term, and each community partner has one full-time member. |
