NJ Food Security Advocate Visits TASK
On March 23, TASK enjoyed a visit from Mark Dinglasan, Director of the New Jersey Office of the Food Security Advocate.
Appointed in August of 2022 by Governor Phil Murphy, Dinglasan formerly served as Executive Director of CUMAC, the largest anti-hunger organization in Passaic County. Like TASK, CUMAC provides a holistic and trauma-informed approach to fighting hunger and its root causes.
During his visit, Dinglasan spent time with TASK’s leadership team, greeted volunteers and toured the kitchen and dining room, drawing comparisons to his own experience and sharing his commitment to support organizations like TASK on the frontlines of hunger.
Said Dinglasan, “It was inspiring and motivating to visit TASK and experience, firsthand, TASK’s unique combination of direct service work, trauma-informed program design, and empowering community to actively participate in their mission. As New Jersey continues to lead the way in food security work, I’m looking forward to partnering with TASK and all of their stakeholders and co-collaborators.”TASK is grateful for the opportunity to host Director Dinglasan and looks forward to working with him toward a hunger-free New Jersey.
