Thanks to the generosity of various community partners and donors, TASK has been able to provide a variety of cultural enrichment opportunities for patrons in addition to our weekly arts programming. In 2023, these included outings to a local nature preserve, trips to the cinema, jazz concerts, free sculpture classes at Grounds For Sculpture (GFS) and more.

Last year, GFS used a grant from The Dina Wind Art Foundation to offer intensive art-making opportunities to six TASK artists who participated in eight-session ceramics classes including portrait modeling, wheel throwing and experimental printmaking with ceramics. These classes, which were offered at no cost, provided space for our artists to develop their technical skills and creative expression.

“It was wonderful,” said John Hayes. “I loved that I could use my hands to create a ceramic portrait. I learned a lot.”

Last summer, longtime donor James Barnshaw sponsored a trip with Pinelands Adventures for 11 friends of TASK to enjoy a special trip to the Pine Barrens to swim and hike through Bass River Forest as well as two more trips this year.
