On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, TASK was honored to host New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill and her family as volunteers during lunch service.

On the eve of her inauguration, Sherrill was joined by her husband and two of her children who delivered TASK’s signature meals to diners and stopped to speak with many members of the TASK community during her shift. She was joined by a group of local elected officials, working alongside staff, seasoned TASK volunteers, members of two local churches and the boys’ wrestling team from Robbinsville High School.

“We are deeply grateful to the New Jersey Governor for spending this day of service volunteering with us at TASK alongside her family,” says TASK CEO Amy Flynn. “Her attentiveness and genuine care made the day especially meaningful for our patrons and staff. And her hard work truly embodied the spirit of MLK Jr Day.”
