TASK’s entire operation relies on a strong network of volunteers, like you, who come to TASK with an open heart in the spirit of giving back to their neighbors in need.

We often say we could not do what we do without you, and it’s the truth. TASK volunteers truly excel at showing our community “radical hospitality.”

Each day, friendly volunteers plate up our freshly-prepared food while others graciously set TASK’s delicious, nutritious meals before guests with a smile and a kind “Enjoy your meal, ma’am” or “Have a great day, sir.” Others hand out fresh coffee, fruit, salad and distribute to-go meals.

Off-site, hundreds of volunteers support TASK’s mission by running donation drives and collecting much-needed items like shelf-stable food, hygiene products and other basic necessities. Volunteers from all over the community also get together to wrap utensil packets, create hygiene kits and make supplemental meal bags that we can give to diners for times when TASK isn’t open.

Says longtime volunteer Walter Krause (pictured top left, in red), “It is my honor to be a part of this program and give back to help people have a better day.”

Please know your kindness really counts. It’s why our diners call the soup kitchen an “oasis” and why they say that TASK is like “another family” and a “second home.”
