PAY IT FORWARD: One child is thrilled to receive a gift from a TASK staffer during holiday distribution at the soup kitchen during the previous year.

After being on the receiving end of countless in-kind donations throughout the holiday season, TASK was happy to pay it forward to families at Grant Elementary School in Trenton. TASK’s patron services department recently gifted boxes of personal care items, winter apparel and toys to students.

“It’s important to keep in mind that some of these students may not have received any gifts this holiday season,” shared TASK Patron Service Specialist Evie Spadafora. “Many of them live right in our community and may even be walking distance from TASK.”

Coincidently, these items were delivered to the school the same day these students and their families stopped by to pick up books and other supplies to finish out the school year.

“It was great to see children who came in with no hats or gloves, leave with items to keep them warm,” said Jennifer Petinga, the school’s counselor. “It’s the little things that many people take for granted that we see our families need the most.”
